Dr. La’Kerri Jackson's story is one of uncompromising dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, La’Kerri's journey is characterized by a persevering commitment to living a purpose-driven life; and a profound belief in her calling to empower women and girls, while transforming communities worldwide.

From a young age, La’Kerri would daydream about traveling to places beyond Atlanta, Georgia, imagining life in the world at large. Little did she know then that her life would transform into a catalyst for change, opening pathways for women and girls not only locally but also on national and international stages. For a considerable time, she has dedicated her time to enhancing the emotional and economic well-being of marginalized and powerless individuals.

Meet Dr. La'Kerri Jackson

Her impact has been felt in diverse ways, from mentoring elementary students facing truancy issues through Judge Glenda Hatchett’s program in the USA to guiding teen mothers and adult domestic violence survivors in local shelters. La’Kerri's work extends to developing and implementing life skills programs for female teen survivors of human and sex trafficking and also teenagers with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. She's been instrumental in establishing mentoring programs for 5th grade students, helping them transition smoothly into the 6th grade, and created a college scholarship program that allowed international women from Kenya, South Korea, the Bahamas, and beyond to pursue higher education in the United States.

La’Kerri's influence isn't confined to U.S. borders. Her reach extends across the globe to countries like Cambodia, Ethiopia, Hungary, Indonesia, Kenya, Romania, South Africa, Swaziland (eSwatini), Singapore, Tanzania, and Uganda. She has collaborated with U.S. embassies, government officials, faith-based organizations, financial institutions, and school systems to advocate for the powerless and deliver hope and barrier-breaking solutions to empower street children, orphans, widows/widowers, the intellectually and mentally challenged, and women entrepreneurs and founders.

One of La’Kerri's proudest accomplishments is the African Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative (TAWEEI), which she initiated and launched in 2020 in collaboration with a financial institution. TAWEEI has already transformed the lives of over 4,000 women and their families in Uganda, breaking cultural barriers and providing access to capital for women entrepreneurs and founders.

Professionally, Dr. La’Kerri Jackson is an executive leader at a Fortune 50 multinational corporation. She leads global equity and economic empowerment initiatives, focusing on removing systemic barriers and creating pathways to success for underserved women, youth, and marginalized communities. Her prior role as a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner allowed her to influence organizational culture and lead the company’s Business Resource Groups across the globe, promoting a fair, inclusive, and authentic workplace for over 500,000 employees.

La’Kerri's commitment to social change extends beyond her corporate role. She has served on the boards of directors and advisory councils of various organizations, providing thought leadership to Career Rise, National Black Child Development Institute, Caring for Others, Women Impacting A Nation, NAACP’s ACT-SO Youth Initiative, and the Global Village Project—a school dedicated to educating refugee girls who were forced to flee their home countries.

With a B.A. in Leadership Studies from Beulah Heights University, ABA-approved paralegal certification in civil litigation from the National Center for Paralegal Training, and an honorary doctorate degree in Divinity from Saint Thomas Christian University, La’Kerri is well-equipped to tackle complex challenges.

Beyond her professional achievements, she finds joy in spending time with family, exploring new places, volunteering, and helping others realize and maximize their potential. Amid her many responsibilities, she cherishes her roles as a mother, daughter, and advocate for vulnerable groups. In La’Kerri Jackson's life, empowerment is not just a word; it's a way of life.
